i have a kubota L4200 4x4 DSL. i noticed the other day a puddle under the tractor and got down to see where it was leaking. apprently i crushed a hydraulic line and now it is leaking pretty good. its about .75"-1" across and is formed around the brake linkage.

i was mainly looking for assistance as to what this part is actually called (I already know it's a hydraulic line) and where i could get a replacement aside from a dealer.

thanx guys

For a line that size, formed around the brake area, I would guess it is the suction line of the system. If you could follow both ends of the line, that would help.

Tractorsmart is a good source of on-line Kubota parts. They can also look mup the part number for you once we determine which line it is.

awesome!

ok one end fits into the side of a filter, i am assuming it in the hydraulic filter and the other end fits in to the underside of the belly towards the rear. it is close to a drain plug so i am assuming this is the hydraulic reservoir. not sure though.

also what kind of oil is best used in these kubotas? regular 10w40?

EDIT... i think it's DT which means dual traction? not sure it is a 4 wheel drive model ....

To the belly-button of the reservoir would be the suction line. It sounds right from the routing you describe and the size of the line, but to the filter is a little different. A suction line filter isn't unussual. The routing should continue from the filter to the pump. Tractorsmart can also send you a copy of the parts diagram from the parts manual so you can take the diagram and double check the routing from the diagram. The good news, if it is indeed the suction line, is that it is a low pressure line. ....
